Express filing of your Florida marriage license by mail.
You planned all the details of your wedding, but then your officiant asked about your marriage license, but totally forgot to apply for one. We are often able to get your license applied for and issued within 5 working days before your wedding for out-of-state couples. If you can get your license in person on a weekday before your wedding, this will be the only other option you have to get legally married on a weekend, since the Clerk is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
What are the rules?
If neither of you resides in Florida, you don’t have a waiting period, and the license is valid on the day it is issued. For Florida residents, a 3-day waiting period applies and can only be waived if you completed a 4-hour course from a provider registered with the Clerk of the Circuit Court. You will have to provide us with the certificate to waive the waiting period. If you haven’t completed a premarital course, we will need at least 7 working days before your wedding takes place to file for your Express marriage License. There are plenty of online premarital state-approved courses available to waive the waiting period.
What is required of us to do?
Time is crucial, and you have to be able to get your signatures notarized on the same day you receive the documents from us via email. You will also need to overnight the original notarized documents back to us with FedEx or UPS. Out-of-state couples must provide us with a Florida mailing address to mail the finished license. This can be your officiant, wedding planner, or other contact in Florida.
