Chris and Mona from Michigan

Hello, we are a same sex couple vacationing in Florida next month. On a whim, we thought about getting married while on holiday. We are visiting several different cities, and flights and accommodations are booked and confirmed. Unfortunately, our vacation plans are very tight and we only have 25 days until we leave. Is it possible to file for the marriage license in time? Also, can the license be used anywhere in Florida?

All these couples and many more have received their Florida marriage license in time for their wedding.

What could go wrong?

Let’s take an example: You ntoarized your license and you mail it back to us, but the license did not arrive, or was delayed. In almost 90% of cases, shipment is the main reason for delayed or lost documents.

Another example: You did not read the instructions thoroughly, and the documents are not notarized correctly. You must redo the notarization, which delays issuing the final license. If your license is not notarized on time or if you are sending documents back late, it will also delay finalizing your marriage license.

What can be done if this happens?

We do our best to ensure that you receive your marriage license on time and find a solution for you if problems arise. Depending on how much time we have left until your wedding day, overnight shipping costs or additional fees for expediting will apply.
